Training Program

Our year long Syntropic Farming Journey is a season-based, hands-on learning experience that immerses participants in the principles and practice of syntropic agriculture.

Through the year, the program follows the rhythms of the land, combining multi-day intensive modules with guided fieldwork to teach everything from planting and system management to harvesting and system design.

Training & courses

The courses organised by De BosBoerderij offer not only valuable knowledge about syntropic agriculture but also a deeper connection with nature and the community.

Participants gain both theoretical insights and practical experience applying the principles in real-life situations.

Words from previous participants

Community & methodology “The five-day course really structured my thinking about natural systems. Not just theoretically, but with a practical design methodology. I can now continue learning through reading and experimenting. The course also connected me with a community of like-minded people, where we share knowledge, experiences, and support on our syntropic farming journey. Thank you!”

DIANA POWER
permaculture professional, joined the multiday course in 2024

First introduction to syntropy “Over the past four years I’d already learned about permaculture and agroforestry. The course in Wassenaar was my first real dive into syntropic agriculture. We learned to reconnect with nature. And the attention and mindfulness with which we planted makes it impossible to do it any other way now 😀! Fantastic course and experience.”

BERNADETTE VERSTEGE
permaculturist and connector, completed multiday course in 2025

“My four days at De Bosboerderij were incredibly valuable. From camping on-site to daily hands-on fieldwork—harvesting, pruning, learning plant characteristics and management—every moment deepened my understanding. By visiting multiple sites and working with the team, I gained practical skills I can apply directly. I’ll definitely be back!”

RYAN HARKIN
Syntropic agriculture trainee from Ierland, followed an immersive program

“The syntropic farming course was much more than a course about agroforestry—it was a course about life itself. The connection between humans and nature, and our role as stewards of the land, touched me so deeply that I changed my career path. I now want to fully contribute to sustainable agriculture. A truly inspiring and life-changing experience!”

FLORIS MELIEF
innovation specialist who changed his career

“The four-day course at WIJdehorst in February 2025 was more than learning about regenerative agriculture. I was looking for meaningful work that connects my head, hands, and heart. Now I’m there every week, watching the forest grow and the soil come back to life.”
